White Cat by Holly Black

Standard

Hi everyone! Ash here. I’ve come here with a book that is, so far, 4.5 stars. It’s just so good!

In this book, the main character comes from a family of curse workers–“People who have the power to change your emotions, your memories, your luck, by the slightest touch of their hands.” Sounds cool, right? Wrong. Since curse work is illegal, they’re all criminals. Then again, I guess if you were normal in that family, you’d be a worker, aka someone who can do curse work. So meet Cassel, the abnormal one. Yes, he’s a con man, but not a worker. And if you’re going to become friends with him, you have to ignore one small detail–he killed his best friend, Lila, 3 years ago.

Cassel has built up a fake normalcy around himself, and not many people notice him that much, until he starts to dream about a white cat. Oh, and he sleepwalks out onto the roof. Suddenly, Cassel realizes his brothers are manipulating him, and suspects he’s part of a huge con game. To win? He must outcon the conmen.

I’m definitely putting this on your list as a must-read! I mean, if you trust me that much yet. 🙂

Hope you like!
